Packing for a 1 year old baby to Asia – Hong Kong

Flying to Hong Kong with a stop in Taipei, Taiwan will be our longest trip yet and I am definitely nervous for the flight!

In preparation, here’s what I’m packing for our 1 year old for 14 days, with access to laundry throughout the trip.

In his diaper bag (btw, I’m in love this this ju-ju-be BRB that I purchased just for this trip, I needed a backpack style so that I would be handsfree):

  • diaper cream, 1.5oz size to keep in my carry-on bag
  • boogie wipes, 1 pack
  • disposable place mats for eating out at restaurants
  • 10 disposable diapers
  • pack of wipes
  • 3 bottles
  • formula holder filled with pre-measured amounts of formula
  • some toys and his teether
  • snacks – baby mum mum & happy puffs
  • extra plastic bags – to separate dry/wet stuff

In the suitcase, which will be checked-in

  • swim trunk & rash guard set
  • 80 diapers – or less, if you plan to purchase them
  • boogie wipes, 1 pack
  • 2 packs of wipes – again, could be less, if you plan on purchasing them
  • 2 pairs of shorts
  • 5 onesies
  • 2 sets of pj’s
  • 2 t-shirts
  • 2 pairs of socks
  • 1 small food bowl / masher
  • 2 spoons
  • 3 bibs
  • stuffed monkey
  • blanket
  • toothbrush

There will be NO STROLLER, NO CAR SEAT on this trip!  Instead, we will be carrying him with a baby carrier. I purchased one with a-maz-ing back support, knowing that I will be walking around lots. This LILLE Baby complete does not disappoint and is a huuuuuge improvement from what I was using before.

I do plan on purchasing a can of formula at a grocery store once we arrive. And if I’m missing anything, I’ll hopefully be able to pick it up from a store. I’ve visited HK before, so I know that I will be able to find everything that I need at either their supermarkets (Park n Shop, Wellcome) or convenient stores (Mannings, Watson’s).
